An apple tree can grow to over 35 feet tall. Each spring, an apple tree produces pink and white flowers. After a blossom has been pollinated (fertilized), an apple develops. Inside each apple are small, brown seeds, which can grow into new apple trees. Each fall, apple trees lose their leaves - they are deciduous.
Early in US history, John Chapman (nicknamed Johnny Appleseed) spread apple seeds around much of the USA.
Apples are a healthy snack; there is an old saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."
